Plug Valves

There are two main types of pulg valves; a two way plug and a three way plug, both of which are meant to allow the flow of liquid and gases. Though, the most commonly used is the 3-way plug as it is more advantageous.

3-way plug valve:

The main purpose of the 3-way valve is to divert, isolate and regulate the flow of fluid inside the valves. Moreover, it also shifts the flow between the different valves.

Use of plug valve:

The main advantage of the plug valves, is that they make flowing of fluid convenient and controlled. Normally he plugs valves are lubricated which are used to carry fluids which contain aa small number of grainy materials. On the other hand are the non-lubricated plugs which are genrally used in places which requires zero maintainance. Apart from this, the threaded plug valves are used for flow control and prevention of contamination.

Pros and Cons of plug valves:

The various distinctive pros of the plug valves are:

  • Their structurestructure and construction is simple which makes it and easy to use and maintain.
  • A lot of the plug valves have strong permeability.
  • The interior of the plug valves is really simple too.
  • These are easy to make provision to clientele designs as well.
  • They are really reliable.
  • the high flow rate

Cons of the plug are:

  • It costs way more than the check valves.
  • The improper release of the bushing material causes deformation which can cause swelling and expansion too.

Plug valve working principle:

Plug valves generally have cylindrical and conical tapered installed. These tapered plugs rotate within the valve which controls the flow inside the valve. It also has of hollow passageways which permits the water to flow when the valve is open.
